Then Shri Modi further asked if there was a ‘Mahila Morcha’ or a team of women. To this the members replied with a ‘No’ on which Shri Modi asked as to why there was not a dedicated team comprising of women to take up the various issues for their empowerment. The members replied that women were not open to taking up leadership roles.
For this Shri Modi suggested that ‘Mahila Morchas’ were of utmost importance and that during weddings and associated functions, there usually is a woman who takes lead of the various arrangements wherein she facilitates all the procedures. Women who undertake such activities possess leadership qualities and they can be approached also lead the ‘Mahila Morchas’, thereby encouraging women empowerment.
